Greg Bovino Believes Trump Administration Wants Him Dead – ‘Proof’s in the Pudding’
So, this is a thing that happened.

Gregory Bovino, the commander and face of the deadly Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis at the beginning of 2026, and a former mid-level Border Patrol commander, had been tasked by Kristi Noem to head Border Patrol’s operations in late 2025. However, by the end of January 2026, he was pushed out into forced retirement.
It was only a couple of months later that Noem was fired by Trump and replaced by Markwayne Mullins, who put on the appearance of taking a lighter touch with immigration. (Mullins has received backlash from MAGA for his supposed softer approach.)
Bovino recently showed up again in an interview with Tucker Carlson where, according to The Daily Beast, he claimed, among other things, that the Trump administration wants him dead. Bovino linked his claim that the administration wanted him dead to losing his security detail after being let go. (At one point, according to TMZ, Carlson pointed out the fact that Anthony Fauci still has a security detail.)
When asked in the interview why he believed the administration would want him dead, Bovino commented that “cheap labor” politicians who think that immigrants strengthen the workforce might see him as a threat.
Bovino Went Into More Detail About His Beliefs
He purportedly explained to Carlson, “Hey, Tucker, I got some gas in the tank. If they want you gone, if those gate guards want you gone, you better watch out. They’ll come for you […] I’m the, one of the highest, if not the highest threats in DHS, death threats.”
He shared how his security team was pulled after he was pushed out, which he said left him open to danger and commented that his home and family had been targeted. When Carlson asked why his security detail was removed, Bovino replied that it was to “silence” him.
Carlson then reportedly asked, “Silence you like, get you killed? ‘Cause that’s what it sounds like.”
Bovino apparently replied, “Do I think they want me dead at this point? Yes.”
He also reportedly insisted during the interview that “Proof’s in the pudding.”
Bovino Thinks Certain People Are Behind It All
When Carlson further pressed Bovino on his claims and who was behind it all, Bovino named a couple of prominent figures.
Carlson allegedly specifically asked whether Bovino was referring to Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, to which Bovino said yes, and also referred to Homan’s “gate guards.”
He then reportedly added, “I think Rodney Scott, he’s the one that took my security detail away with Homan there. Yeah, absolutely. You bet.”
However, Bovino didn’t believe that President Trump himself was involved in the alleged scheme to see him dead. He purportedly told Carlson, “I don’t think Trump would. I think if Trump knew what they had done and what they would do to border patrol agents or ICE officers or anyone that disagrees with them, I think he would have an absolute panic attack or a heart attack over something like that.”
