Donut Shop Staff Gets a Debit Card Thrown at Him, So He Pretends the Customer’s Card Declined: ‘They Deserve It’
A man shared how he dealt with rude customers.

The customer service industry is a melting pot of unpredictability. While some staff create a dramatic, tragic backstory to gain sympathy, others retaliate in their own small ways in the face of allegedly rude customers. TikTok content creator Willie Son (@hiddeninyourfyp) shared in a video his favorite teen pastime when it came to dealing with disrespectful wealthy customers—pretending their card declined.
In Willie’s video that has since accumulated over 1.2 million views, the Atlanta-based TikToker claimed that he and his twin brother used to work at a donut shop during high school. According to Willie, the twin brothers would mess with customers “for funsies” when they allegedly deserved it.
“Sometimes you have to humble people,” Willie said. According to Willie, he once served a wealthy customer driving a Mercedes convertible, and alleged that their personality left little to be desired.
Woman’s card gets “declined”
“I’m talking about [how] she wanted her latte at a certain temperature. Foamed, flavored, all the b******t,” Willie said. The TikToker claimed that the customer had also asked him if their donut shop was vegan-friendly: “I didn’t know what she was talking about. I thought she was talking about if we were dog-friendly.”
According to Willie, the woman threw her debit card at him after making an order. Willie claimed the debit card landed on the ground, and because of the “extra effort” that the customer put him through, it supposedly gave him an opening to mess with the wealthy woman in retaliation.
Willie alleges that he pretended to make the woman’s order, a drink that totaled around $6, before telling the woman that her debit card didn’t go through due to insufficient funds. “She hands me her debit card, [and] I pretended to swipe it. I then handed it back to her and said, ‘Ma’am, do you have an alternative form of payment?’” The content creator recalled.
Willie claimed the woman was dumbfounded and had told him that the debit card contained $300,000 before making him swipe the card again. Willie allegedly told the woman that running the card three times unsuccessfully would deactivate the card.
A lesson for supposedly rude customers
“She then proceeds to tell me that there is a processing issue on our end,” Willie said, before allegedly instructing the woman to visit her bank and inquire about her account instead of arguing with the TikToker. According to Willie, the woman “didn’t like” being told about her unsuccessful debit card purchase and alleges that she “drove out of that drive-through “like she committed a felony.”
Viewers complimented the content creator’s pettiness, and some even claimed they would try Willie’s version of “workplace fun” when dealing with their own rude customers. “This is a damn good idea, I’m a bartender and some people need this. I’m gonna try it today,” one commenter said. “The funny part is they say “I HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS” clearly NOT.”
Other users felt for the bank teller who would have to deal with an irate customer. “The poor bank teller that day,” a TikToker said. Nevertheless, may Willie’s story be a lesson for people to always treat those in the service industry with kindness, or they might find themselves missing food for allegedly being rude. “Sometimes you gotta do the Lord’s work and humble people. They deserve it,” Willie said.
