Woman Bought a Couch from Amazon. She’s Warning People Against It: ‘There Is a Spell on This Couch.’

She swears her Amazon couch comes with a nap-inducing curse — and she's not complaining

Woman Bought a Couch from Amazon. She's Warning People Against It 'There is a Spell on This Couch.'

Shoppers on Amazon place millions of orders in a single day. While many of them might not regret their purchases, Nic Webb (@bynicwebb) told TikTok about her recent couch purchase. After sitting on it for a while, she’s finally given her verdict on her cushion.

“Let this be your warning not to buy this couch on Amazon,” Webb said on social media. It’s the ‘111.4″ Modular Sectional Sofa, U Shape Cloud Couch with 2 Movable Ottoman, Comfy Chenille Deep Seat Sofa with Soft Pillows’ couch from the WorthFurni Store on Amazon, priced at $749.99. The couch comes in five colors, namely, beige, black, blue, green, and grey. Webb said that she’s had the couch for about four to six months.

“Was it pretty reasonably priced? Yes, I did payment plans. Is it super cute in my home? Yes, it actually holds up really well with pet hair,” Webb stated. For those with cats or dogs that love resting on soft furniture, the couch may not be tricky to clean, unlike many couches with cloth as an outer material. But even those without pets—like Airbnb hosts who have pet-friendly listings—might want a similar couch in their properties. According to Webb, the setup was fairly easy as well. But the perfect couch doesn’t exist.

What’s the Real Issue With This Amazon Couch?

“Here’s the issue. It’s a very dangerous couch,” Webb warned. She continued, “Because the second you sit down on it, you will take a two- to three-hour nap, no matter what.” Essentially, the couch is too comfortable for its own good — it’s made for pure relaxation.

“There is a spell on this couch—that you can’t just sit and relax on it. You have to nap,” Webb said. For those who love working on their laptops while on the couch, this may be the worst couch for productivity’s sake. There are also people who love watching movies and TV series from their couches. From Webb’s description, it seems hopeless to try even finishing a movie from it, as the couch could lull people to sleep so easily.

“You might actually want to sleep on this more than you want to sleep in your own bed. I don’t know what powers possessed this couch, but me, and my husband, and guests sit on this couch, and suddenly? It’s nap time,” Webb stated. It may not be the work of Etsy witches, who supposedly could even get people hired through a bunch of spellwork. It’s just a good Amazon purchase, and Webb denied receiving any commissions from her review.

The review went viral, with social media users expressing trust in Webb’s recommendation. The lack of an affiliate link made some people feel that Webb’s review is genuine.

One commenter wrote, “No link or ad. This is for the love of the couch.” But other people were also expressing love for the same couch from Amazon, sharing their experience of owning one.

Someone shared, “I’ve had mine for about a year now and when I first got it, i definitely slept on it more than my bed.” There were also people who were initially panicked at Webb’s warning, stating they just bought a similar couch. But Webb just wanted to let everyone know how comfy her couch is.
