Georgia Woman Called by a Mother About Their Crying Child. The Mother Didn’t Do Anything So She Stepped Up: ‘I Had to Use My Vacation Money.’

A child would usually look for their parents when something’s wrong. It’s instinct, but Allie (@katsuranotzura7) woke up to a call from a parent early in the morning. It was about one of the children she babysat, who was crying for her.
The mother had been repeatedly calling Allie. When she picked up, the mother told Allie that the six-year-old wouldn’t stop crying and was asking for her.
“Did something happen? What’s going on?” Allie asked the mother, and she told her that nothing’s wrong. It only seemed like the child missed their caregiver, which wouldn’t be unusual. Some kids may even treat their babysitters like family members, growing attached to them because they’re always there.
Allie went to check up on the child. She finally spoke to the child, and that’s when Allie found out that she had a toothache. When Allie asked the child if she told her mother, the response was nothing short of shocking.
She had to take the child to a dentist
According to Allie, the girl had been trying to tell her mother about her toothache. Allie checked the girl’s mouth, and she said that there must have been a cavity. Prior to all this, the mother said she didn’t understand why her child had been kicking up a fuss.
“I tell her mom that she needs to go to the dentist,” Allie said. But the mom said that she “couldn’t” bring her daughter to the dentist. Essentially, Allie claimed that the mom refused to bring the child to see a professional, even though she was in a painful, emergency situation.
To remedy the situation, Allie started calling around for a walk-in appointment to the dentist. She found one that she could bring the child to. When she brought the child in, she hit another bump in the road.
“Guess what? The family already has a debt. The family already has a big debt in this place, and you know what? I’m surprised they’ve been there at all,” Allie said. She doesn’t know how the family got in debt with the dentist or who brought the child here before. Regardless, the dentist refused to attend to the child unless a portion of the debt was paid.
“So, I paid off $328 and some change, just so that they would see her,” Allie claimed. It was difficult to see a child in so much pain. Although the child isn’t her responsibility, Allie chose to care for her regardless. It’s not that she had to, but when the vulnerable have nowhere else to turn to, a community has to step up and help.
Helping someone almost cost her holiday
But the expense was abrupt, and Allie has a scheduled trip with her friend. She was supposed to use the money for vacation.
“I had to use my vacation money, so it’s gone,” Allie said. But she also mentioned her ordeal during her livestream, and her audience donated so that she could recuperate some of her money. With the help of online strangers, Allie said that she got at least $215 back. She thanked her viewers, who’ve helped her at the last minute.
Nevertheless, commenters on social media reacted to the situation. Many were furious at the mother for refusing to take her child to see a dentist. Some commenters told Allie to call Child Protective Services (CPS).
In response to one of the comments, Allie confirmed that she called CPS regarding the issue.
