Georgia Woman Warns Everyone Not To Use One Ticketmaster Feature. Then She Shows up to Ariana Grande in Tears
A woman on TikTok has warned others against using the Ticketmaster Request feature after she claims that her tickets to an Ariana Grande concert were “stolen” and she didn’t find out until she arrived at the venue. She has since demanded that the ticket-selling platform either fix the feature or remove it.
TikToker “drpepperprincessaa” filmed her heartbroken reaction upon allegedly realizing the tickets she had bought to see Ariana Grande had been stolen. As this is a TikTok video, it is the poster’s own account of events and should not be treated as verified fact. She appears to be standing outside the venue and can be seen crying as she claims in the caption that “someone stole [her] tickets from [her] account and resold them.”
According to the Ticketmaster website, the new feature allows fans to “request tickets for popular shows.” All buyers are required to do is tell Ticketmaster which events they’re interested in, the type of tickets they want, and if the site can fulfill the request, it will.
It was designed to be a more convenient way for people to shop for their tickets but the disappointed Ariana Grande fan claims there’s a flaw in the way it’s run. “FIX IT OR REMOVE REQUEST AS AN OPTION” she demanded of Ticketmaster. Fans are often left with few options when it comes to places they can buy tickets from and Ticketmaster is the largest in the business, but the TikToker claims buyers can still be scammed.
The tickets were bought and paid for
One viewer explained in the comments that the Request feature “is a lottery system,” telling her, “it doesn’t mean you will get tickets.” However, the woman responded, claiming that her request had been fulfilled, she was charged, and had the tickets in her account. While she can’t explain exactly how it happened, she alleges that “someone else got access to take” her tickets.
In a second video, the woman gives more of an explanation as to what happened. She says she was told the “tickets were just never even fully transferred.” She was apparently told conflicting things, with some box office staff telling her the tickets were under her name and also under somebody else’s name.
Box office staff told her that there was nothing they could do for her and she says they recommended she dispute the payment with her bank. While she may be able to get her money back, the alleged robbery has still left the woman and her friend with no choice but to miss out on Ariana Grande, “It’s 9:22, we’ve been here since 7:30,” she says, standing outside the venue while the concert can be heard going on inside.
“It’s just so frustrating, I’m already here, I was so excited,” she says. She also claimed that Request “seems to be causing a lot of problems, they said more people are having issues about this.”
Some viewers questioned whether Ticketmaster was really to blame or if the woman had made a mistake in purchasing. However, she insists that the ticket Request feature is completely to blame. Ticketmaster has not commented on the story.
