When it comes to public speeches, one could say that United States President Donald Trump is quite unabashed. He speaks without filters, which earns him a lot of praise from his supporters and criticism from many others.
A video of him is currently circulating on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), and the reaction from the public has not been positive. People have called his comments in the video insensitive, while others have used stronger words to describe his behavior during the event, and none of them are favorable.
Recently, Donald Trump attended a Memorial Day event at Arlington National Cemetery and delivered a speech to honor the American soldiers who lost their lives while serving the country. However, it wasn’t just his act of remembrance that drew attention, but rather what he said during it that really got people worked up.

As mentioned earlier, Donald Trump is currently facing significant criticism from people in the US for the comments he made during a Memorial Day event at Arlington National Cemetery recently.
In a particular part of his speech, Trump pointed out that many soldiers are buried at the cemetery and said they were equal to “400,000 souls.” Then, at one point, he listed some common names of those buried there, noting, “…more than 18,000 other young men named William, over 20,000 named John, over 13,000 named James, joined over time by Isaacs, Elijahs, Earls, Hanks, Helens, Juans, Margarets, Marius, Donalds.” Immediately after he uttered “Donald”, he smirked and added, “not too many,” before laughing. Many netizens, including those on X, have called this “offensive.”

On May 26, 2026, Axios Houston reported that U.S. Representative Christian Menefee won the Democratic runoff for Houston’s newly redrawn 18th Congressional District, defeating U.S. Representative Al Green. Menefee secured 68.6% of the vote (21,678 votes), while Green received 31.4% (9,930 votes) with 61% of votes counted, according to the Associated Press.
Soon after the incident, Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account and criticized Green and the Democrats. He wrote, “Congratulations to the Dumocrat Party! Al Green, one of the most mentally deficient Congressmen in the history of our Country, has lost, in a landslide, his seat in Congress – But I will miss that lunatic not screaming and violently waving his cane at me during my next State of the Union Speech.”
