Millennials, We’re Official Old: The Final Jackass Trailer Is Here to Make Your Bones Creak

Jackass: Best and Last finally has a trailer. And, you Millennials should be ready to feel like dirt after watching this thing.

Every one of the Jackass movies carry a kind of nostalgia these days. The first one seemed audacious in a “there’s no way this is going to work” way. Each subsequent one felt like Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and the boys were getting away with something. The previous entry, Jackass Forever felt like a swan song to the Millennial youth dominance of the last decade and change.

Now, Jackass: Best and Last feels poised to really toss that dirt on the entire era as these dudes are out for one last ride. Oh yeah, and there’s a robot in this one! So, that’s interesting. (Well, in the fact that it’s possible and not so much in the execution.) I can confidently say that I never thought I would see Steve-O getting a rectal exam from an automaton, but now I have. Hooray for science.

CinemaCon audiences were treated to this carnage a little while ago. The responses coming out of Las Vegas were delighted as usual. Over time the Jackass stars have become endearing in the popular eye. After all, this kind of physical torture for entertainment has largely gone missing outside of viral video.

Johnny Knoxville is 55-years-old, friends. Did we really think he’d be out there getting kicked in the head by livestock for sport forever? And, that’s really the shame because, kind of!

Jackass: Best and Last trailer rides out one more time

Not too long ago, the Jackass ringleader got interviewed about his prospects heading into this final chapter. Knoxville was as jovial as usual. There’s a kind of lightness when he speaks. It’s grown more sincere over the years. You get the feeling these dudes realize it’s been one heck of ride.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the Jackass star quipped, “So it’s going to be absolutely awful.” He added that the new film, “never was a good idea! It was just fun. You know how you have ideas that are terrible but are fun? This would be that.”

If ever there was a subtitle for the entire Jackass project, that would be it. Was it the best idea in totality? Probably not. Has it been a blast to see these men’s friendship blossom? You bet your life. Will I go to see this last entry and reflect on how much joy a bunch of dudes rolling around in shopping carts has given me specifically? Come on, do you have to ask?

What’s on deck for Jackass: Best and Last?

Here’s what Paramount has to say about the new movie: “Johnny Knoxville and the gang return for one final fling at the big screen. Featuring all-new stunts and stupidity along with the greatest hits and biggest laughs from the past, jackass: best and last is a joyously raucous celebration of all the mischievous camaraderie that you’ve come to love and expect from these idiots over the past 25 years.

“So, grab your dumb little buddies, raise your glasses, and come experience the cinematic event that promises to be the last time you’ll ever laugh this hard in a theatre.”

Part of the journey is the end. Jackass: Best and Last crashes into theaters June 26.
