Woman wants to give ‘cute’ guy on plane her phone number. Then Delta flight attendants decide to help

Shooting your shot can be nerve-racking—but if you’re on a Delta flight, you might be lucky enough to have wingmen.
In a viral TikTok, which has garnered 343,600 views, user Brittany Barnes (@barnessbritt) said: “OK, you guys, there’s the cutest guy on the plane.” Holding a pen and what looks like a napkin in her hand, she said she planned to give him her number, and admits, “I’ve never been more scared in my life.”
“We’re hyping her up, though,” a male flight attendant chimed in. He, along with the female flight attendant, advised her on what to put in the note. She then faced her fears and gave her note to the passenger.
In a follow-up video, Barnes said that while she didn’t get a text back, she received two FaceTimes, which she described as Bachelorette-style texts with people’s photos and self-penned bios, and a message from a Raya match referencing the situation — saying that they assume the leap of faith didn’t work out given she was on the app.
However, she says it was all worth it for the girls who DM’d her saying that she had inspired them to give their own phone numbers to men “in the wild.”
Barnes didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via Instagram direct message. Delta didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via contact form.
What did commenters think?
TikTok users were delighted by the video.
“The flight attendants being your lil helpers is so cute,” one wrote.
“As a flight attendant, I’m so jealous this wasn’t on one of my flights,” a second admitted.
“This is the kind of crew I want on my plane (and I want all the tea when we land),” a third added.
“OMG US crew are always up for some fun stuff!!” a fourth exclaimed. “Yessssss Delta queens.”
While a fifth shared, “I married someone I met on a plane! Together 20 years, married almost 17 and 2 kids! I hope it works out for you!”
Delta itself even got involved via its official TikTok account, commenting: “Delta crew = hype team.”
@barnessbritt This is your sign to write your number and give it to a cute guy this week. I’ll keep you posted on if we get a text back or not. #ilovedelta ♬ Always Everywhere – Charli xcx
Delta flight attendant helps passenger through panic attack
This isn’t the first time a Delta flight attendant has gone above and beyond to help a passenger. Back in December, TikTok user Birdy (@birdy.bee) had a panic attack on a Delta flight after her emetophobia (fear of throwing up) was triggered.
After her flight ended up having delays, the plane was, at one point, circling D.C., unable to land, which made Birdy feel nauseous. This was made worse by the fact that she has emetophobia. When the flight redirected to Pittsburgh, she started having a panic attack. The attendant then moved the man next to her, sat with her, and comforted her.
“Thank you so much for your kindness,” she said in the TikTok, directing her message to the attendant. “I don’t know how I could ever repay you. You single-handedly saved me from having a much, much worse breakdown.”
