‘I will be forcing a vote’: Bernie Sanders might be 84, but he’s sharp enough to crush Trump’s $1 billion carnage

On Saturday, the third round of the No Kings protests, which reportedly drew over 8 million people according to organizers, was held. The protests took place across 50 states in the United States, all sharing the same belief: they opposed being ruled by a king because it was a thing of the past, and also opposed being governed by a dictatorial government because that, too, was outdated.
Needless to say, the No Kings Protests, endorsed by several popular figures, most of whom urged people to join if their ideas aligned with the protest’s goals, saw some of these figures participating on the day of the march. Among them was Senator Bernie Sanders, who has never been a big fan of Donald Trump and has consistently sought to be on the right side of history. He appeared at the flagship rally in St. Paul, Minnesota, and wholeheartedly criticized Trump.
Bernie Sanders makes bold promises at a No Kings rally
As mentioned earlier, Senator Bernie Sanders attended the No Kings protest rally in St. Paul, Minnesota. To give you an idea of how large this event was, Bruce Springsteen, Tim Walz, Jane Fonda, and Joan Baez also made appearances at the same event.
During his speech, Sanders emphasized that he would ensure American taxpayer money was not being used to fund foreign wars. He discussed efforts to prevent Trump from spending billions on war in Iran and promised to take action to ensure the U.S. was not funding Israel’s actions in Gaza. “First, we have gotta make sure that Congress does not send another 200 billion dollars to fight this war. Trump’s supplemental appropriation for the War in Iran must be defeated!” he said. “Secondly, I will be forcing a vote in the Senate on legislation to block the sale of nearly a billion dollars in weapons to the Israeli military for bombs and bulldozers. A nation, a government that has committed genocide in Gaza does not need more military support from American taxpayers,” he added.
Bernie Sanders’ speech during the No Kings protest gets support from netizens
While opinions on specific issues will always vary, many people expressed their support for Bernie Sanders and his remarks during the Saturday No Kings protest rally.
In the comments section of a video of Sanders from the protest march posted by user Marco Foster, someone wrote that Sanders was “choosing conscience over complicity” at a time when “innocent lives are at stake.” Several other encouraging comments featured alongside. That said, many individuals also questioned Sanders’ motives, noting that several Democrats he is close to have strong ties with Israel, including Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Adam Schiff.
