A Kentucky woman has gone viral after being followed home by an off-duty police officer. Needless to say, she wasn’t happy. In the clip, which has amassed 73,300 views, Amanda Leigh (@thatgsxrgurl) explained that this happened back in September 2025, but she had waited to say something out of respect for her husband.

Leigh then detailed how she and her husband were riding their respective motorcycles home. Her husband was a little ahead, but she noticed that a car was following her very closely.

The car continued to tail her and even got off at the same exit as her. When she pulled into the house, her husband was already home. But Leigh then noticed a car parked at the end of a driveway. A man got out, purportedly screaming and yelling at her about her driving. Things then escalated when police cars also appeared in the driveway.

The angry man revealed that he is a police officer, but he never showed his badge, wasn’t in uniform, and wasn’t driving a cop car. In fact, Leigh noted how the cop drove here with his wife and two young children in tow. According to the cop, he followed her home because his wife got annoyed at her, saying she cut him off. He also allegedly disclosed that he exceeded speeds of 100mph to follow him home.

After adding that she had receipts of this man’s behavior in the form of images and videos, she claimed that he threatened to send her husband to jail after he said that he wasn’t giving him anything, as there was no proof.

‘It’s people like you that make us hate officers’

Naming the cop directly, Leigh said that cops like the one she mentioned “make it so hard to back the blue” because they’re often on a “power trip.” She also noted how, upon speaking to other attorneys and police officers, she found that none of them “like” him. Moreover, the other cop who was present allegedly stopped her and her husband and apologized for the incident a week later.

She concluded by naming the officer again and dubbing him a “s—y f—g cop.”

Addressing him directly, she added, “And it’s people like you that makes us hate officers. Which really sucks for the good officers, but, unfortunately, you have a bunch of s—y cops, and then the few good cops get a bad rap because you can’t keep your anger out of control because you had to show your wife that you were superior and that you could write us a ticket because she got p—d off.”

Leigh didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment and direct message.

Commenters tried to help

In the comments, some users tried to assist Leigh. “Have you spoke to the chief of police?” one asked, to which Leigh replied, “The chief is his dad; so no! I won’t be doing that.”

“I hope you filed a complaint,” a second admitted. Leigh responded to explain that while she tried to file a complaint to the mayor, he “didn’t care about the incident at all”—but added that she was determined to complain to higher-ups.

“Federal civil rights attorney can help you with that,” a third suggested.

Others were more shocked by the event itself. “This is so unprofessional,” a fourth added. “You need an attorney,” a fifth suggested, while a sixth pointed out, “If he was so concerned about your driving, he should have called it in to dispatch instead of following you home and had another on duty officer handle it. That is terrifying.”

Replying to this user, Leigh commented, “That’s exactly what I said. He could’ve easily just called the cop to handle it from start to end. He did not need to be involved. But honestly, what’s more terrifying is that the mayor encouraged what he did.”

Off-duty cop punches driver for honking at him

This isn’t the first time an off-duty police officer has descended into a fit of road rage. Back in 2024, an off-duty police officer from Connecticut punched a fellow driver after they honked at him.

As reported by the New York Post, viral dashcam footage shows the victim, Thomas Brocuglio, honking at the car in front because they didn’t turn at a red light. In response, the officer, Allen Ganter, leaves the car flashing his badge as he approaches Brocuglio. As the exchange escalates, Ganter threatens to call “supervisor” and write him a ticket. The argument culminates with Ganter punching him in the face.

Eventually, he was charged with breaching the peace and third-degree assault. He was suspended without pay for five days and required to attend de-escalation training. He was also removed from his post as a School Resource Officer.
