A woman got hit by a car after visiting the Dallas Parke sample sale. TikToker McKinley (@kin.taylor), who has never made a post on TikTok before, specifically created one to describe the “pure chaos” she witnessed at the sale. She it attracted over 2,000 people.

What is Parke?

Parke is a breakout retailer specializing in “classic wardrobe staples.” Chelsea Parke, the company’s founder, created the retailer to “create beautiful, well-made essentials that can live in your closet for years, not seasons.”

In 2023, the company expanded to create “matching sets,” which became an extremely popular commodity. Limited-time drops sold out within minutes, despite there being little information as to where the clothing came from or how it was sourced. It continued to succeed without spending any money on paid media or advertisements, an arguable feat in today’s economy.

But that ended up leading TikTok sleuths to discover that Parke sourced its clothing from Alibaba and other common dropshippers, at least in 2025. Parke was immediately embroiled in controversy, but many customers still actively purchase its collections.

What happened in the Parke line?

When McKinley went to wait in line for a Parke sample drop, there were already over 300 people waiting. Then, she noticed that there may have actually been 2,000 people there, all of whom were waiting in line for new Parke products.

“ I go to sample sales all the time. I have never, never ever seen anything like that,” McKinley said.

Because the line was so long, customers were “shoved” around multiple buildings, even lining up inside parking garages and other areas. That resulted in some customers standing in awkward positions. McKinley ended up standing in an alleyway that had some business parking spots in it.

Then, a car came out of nowhere. “The girl right next to me yelled, watch out, and she pulled me outta the way as this car whipped out of nowhere, and he proceeded to hit me in the butt,” McKinley told her audience.

Shocked, McKinley told the man at the wheel that she couldn’t believe he actually hit her. The man proceeded to curse at her. If the girl hadn’t pulled McKinley out of the way, there was a good chance the man would have run over her foot.

Despite this, the man tried to flee the scene. But the other girls around her pulled out their phones and started recording the encounter.

The man tries to flee—police arrive

All of the women in the Parke line gathered to stop the man from fleeing and to capture more images of him. According to McKinley, the culprit was in a white Subaru Outback. He said multiple times that he didn’t care that he hit her, showing a complete lack of remorse for his actions. That was something that the women captured for future evidence.

While making an escape, the man at the wheel managed to hit a telephone pole and two other women.

Afterward, McKinley went into shock. Her lips turned blue, and she was shivering. The police came and checked in with her while gathering women’s testimonies as to what happened. Ultimately, they had enough information to seek a charge for a hit and run for all three women.

McKinley flags down a Parke manager and tells them what happened

Later, the other women around McKinley tried to speak to a Parke manager about what had happened. But the response they received was not what they expected.

“By the time the manager comes over and we tell her, she does not care, she literally just kind of shrugged her shoulders and walked away,” McKinley said. “ Can you even fathom being told that the sample sale that you’re running is in such pure chaos that three women were struck by a car, and then you decide just to proceed as normal and walk away?

She continues, “From the scene, I can’t fathom that that’s how you would handle a situation like that when the police are involved in everything, but that’s how they handled it.”

According to McKinley, Chelsea Parke Kramer had even messaged her on Instagram to apologize about the situation. McKinley didn’t think that she had to. She wanted the managers at the Dallas location to care.

The worst part? She went home empty-handed. “ I literally got hit by a car, waited for five hours, went home empty handed,” McKinley said. “On top of that, Dallas 260 is giving two very different stories from what they’re talking to US shoppers about in person and what they’re putting out online.”

McKinley explained that the store she went to was completely out of stock for many items she was seeking, which frustrated her. “ They did not care,” McKinley told her viewers. “Literally did not care in the moment, but are now trying to backtrack and handle the situation.”

All of this for a Parke sweatshirt?

Despite some commenters offering McKinley support, others pointed out how she waited in a 300+ person line for a sweatshirt that simply reads, “Parke” on it.

“Sorry this happened to you,” one commenter said. “But girl parks just seems like a cult at this point. Consumerism at its finest. These sweatshirts will eventually be irrelevant idk going to a packed sale like that for a sweatshirt with a word on it is crazy to me.”

Others recounted similar experiences with Parke.

“They are SOO unprofessional,” a commenter added. “I went [a] few months ago and they made this girl in line in front of me who was wearing leggings, sports bra, and one of those lululemon fitted align jackets remove her jacket so she had to wait in line outside in [the] cold with just [a] bra on. I was horrified. They made two other girls do [the] same.”
