Donald Trump Drags Venezuela’s Opposition Leader Machado for ‘Lack of Respect’ While She Tries to Hand Him Nobel Prize Glory

Guess groveling doesn’t buy you dignity after all.

By now, everyone who wants to gain favours from United States President Donald Trump has understood that the one thing they gotta do to make him do what they want is by stroking his massive ego. The members of the Republican Party have been doing it so far, and so have certain world leaders and others who believe that Trump stands for and supports them. Now, yet another individual is attempting to win Trump’s approval, making some bold statements about what she is ready to do for him.

María Corina Machado, who leads the opposition against the administrations of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, is currently among the leading candidates to become Venezuela’s president after Trump and his allies abducted the country’s former president, Nicolás Maduro, on January 3, 2026. To secure her position as president of Venezuela, Machado is going to great lengths to persuade Trump to endorse her as the next leader of the country. Her level of flattery knows no limits, as she not too long ago mentioned that she would be open to collaborating with the United States and Trump to use up Venezuela’s abundant oil reserves, a dream Trump has harboured since his first term in office. Machado escalated her promises surrounding Trump yet again recently by claiming she is willing to “share” her Nobel Peace Prize, which she received back in 2025 for her efforts to promote democracy in Venezuela, with Donald Trump. When questioned during a segment on Fox News about whether she ever considered giving her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump, Machado responded negatively but hinted that it could be a possibility, stating:

“It has not happened yet. I would love to be able to personally tell him — certainly Venezuelan people want to give it to him. What he has done in his work, it is a huge step towards a democratic country. And I want to talk to the American people, a free Venezuela means first security ally.”

As María Corina Machado’s statements about sharing her Nobel Peace Prize with Donald Trump spread across social media, she was met with backlash for her overt flattery towards Trump. Especially on X (formerly Twitter), she became a target of severe trolling, primarily because she was stoking Donald Trump’s ego, which could lead to further adverse effects for both Venezuelans and Americans. I mean, the man literally operates on a whim!
