Mike Johnson has nothing to say about Pete Hegseth’s ‘war crimes’, as he was ‘pretty busy’ covering the evidence up

Currently, Pete Hegseth is one of the most controversial figures in the United States. Since November, the Secretary of War has been embroiled in a mess of his own making, which he is now refusing to take accountability for.
Those who have been following the developments in American politics would be aware that Pete Hegseth has been a hot topic of discussion since November. It was disclosed last month that, as part of the various raids the Department of War has been conducting on vessels in the Caribbean to eliminate potential traffickers and thieves, one raid on a Venezuelan boat on September 2, under the direction of Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump, was unlawful. The first strike that resulted in the deaths of many on the boat was legal, but the second strike that caused the deaths of the two survivors from the first strike was illegal and, as many are currently stating, amounts to war crimes. It doesn’t help that it was later revealed that Hegseth had ordered his forces to “kill everybody” on the vessel.
Now, with Pete Hegseth facing significant criticism for the incident, his supporters, including President Donald Trump and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, are doing their best to protect him. Trump, during a recent conversation, mentioned that Hegseth denied ordering a second strike on the boat, while Leavitt, during a press conference, attempted to shift the blame onto Admiral Bradley, claiming that Secretary Hegseth had authorized him to carry out the “kinetic strikes” and that he had “worked well within his authority and the law” to ensure the “boat was destroyed and the threat to the United States of America was eliminated.”
Mike Johnson, another supporter of Hegseth, in a more recent press interaction, did not really mirror the statements of Trump or Leavitt, but instead offered a familiar excuse. When asked to comment on the ongoing controversy surrounding Pete Hegseth, Johnson stated that he hadn’t had the opportunity to stay updated on the case developments because he was ‘too busy.’ He further mentioned that based on the information he had gathered thus far, it seemed that the admiral (referring to Admiral Bradley) felt it was necessary to “complete the mission,” which led him to make decisions he believed were best for the American people. Johnson’s refusal to respond to questions regarding the Caribbean sea attacks has raised numerous questions among those who suspect he is attempting to shield Pete Hegseth or, worse, hiding evidence to avoid being implicated in any crimes.
