Donald Trump alleges some would like a dictator’s intervention and then says he isn’t one

Donald Trump talking

Wait! Is Donald Trump finally admitting that he is a dictator? Almost, but not quite. However, some of these days, he absolutely will.

A previous interview of Donald Trump talking about Chicago being a “killing field” has people questioning their sanity. In one of his several attempts at legitimising the deployment of troops in the city, Trump emphasised how crucial it was for him to step in due to the supposed hostile environment in Chicago. He also mentioned the backlash he faced from locals, who were asking to be liberated from his and his administration’s control because they viewed him as a dictator. He said:

“As you all know. Chicago is a killing field right now, and they don’t acknowledge it. And they say, we don’t need him. Feedom Freedom. He’s a dictator. He’s a dictator.”

He then continued, saying something that even Trump might find embarrassing if he looks back on it later. He claimed that some Chicagoans actually want a dictator while insisting that he wasn’t one. His exact words were:

“A lot of people are saying maybe we’d like a dictator. I don’t like a dictator. I’m not a dictator. I’m a man with great common sense, and I am a smart person.”

Yes, I know it sounds like he is calling himself a dictator. It may not make much sense in writing, but when you see the clip, it seems like he is almost boasting about Chicago wanting a dictator and trying to tell them that he is the one who fits their requirement.

Many have taken note of Trump’s behaviour during the interview and made jokes surrounding it. Others have remarked that his words should not be taken lightly.

One person wrote:

“There it is. Trump openly floating dictatorship like it’s a campaign slogan. He’s not joking — he’s warning. And MAGA is begging for it.”

Another person wrote:

“He said it! He’s becoming a dictator!”

Others also shared similar sentiments while noting Trump’s shameless behaviour.
