‘That would drive me crazy’: Lowe’s customer buys $1,000 Frigidaire fridge. Then it comes with ‘bullet hole things’

What would you do if the brand-new stainless steel refrigerator you ordered arrived with huge dents smack dab in the middle of the door? That’s what happened to a Frigidaire customer, and his video about how he chose to handle the situation has gone viral.

In the clip, Mista-lorio (@mistalorio) says he spent about $1,000 on his Frigidaire that had arrived that day. He then points to three large circular dents on the right door of the appliance.

He says he called Lowe’s to rectify the issue. The result?

“I wound up getting this fridge for $500 off,” he says. He adds that the company offered to send him a new one the next day, but he couldn’t pass up on the half-off deal.

Before ending his video, he asks viewers for advice on how to make the fridge look “normal.”

Can he fix the Frigidaire?

In the comments section, most viewers suggested some variety of magnet to cover up the imperfections. Beyond a traditional decorative magnet, popular choices were a decorative magnetic fridge wrap (one commenter said Amazon has a large variety to choose from), a magnetic whiteboard, or a magnetic calendar. Photographs were another popular choice.

One viewer said, “Decal or magnet of the hulk next to the dents that he created.”

A second suggested, “Dent puller? Or just cover it with your kids ar[t] picture from school.”

Several also suggested he contact the manufacturer for a replacement part.

One said, “I do this for a living work with appliances- u have 30 days from date of purchase for manucfacture to pay for parts abd labor for cosmetic parts even with the 500$ off frigidaire will still replace the door for free.”

What should I do if an appliance I ordered from Lowe’s comes damaged?

On its website, Lowe’s states, “If you receive an order that arrives damaged, incomplete or in need of replacement parts, contact Lowe’s customer care at 1-800-445-6937 within three days of receiving the item to report the error or damage.”

The Mary Sue contacted Mista-lorio via TikTok comment and direct message. It contacted Lowe’s via contact form and Frigidaire’s parent company via press email.

Update July 14: In a direct message to The Mary Sue, the TikToker said he asked his wife for approval before accepting the Lowe’s offer since she had picked out the fridge.

She enthusiastically agreed, and they have since been happy with the purchase. “The fridge itself works perfectly,” Mista-lorio said. “The lights are bright, and it keeps everything super cold—exactly what you want in a fridge!”

Of the thousands of “incredibly helpful” suggestions he received on how to cover up the dents, he “went with fridge magnets—they were the easiest to find and put into action!”

He said he plans to do a follow-up video soon to thank everyone for their support. “I’m even thinking about inviting viewers to send in their own fridge magnets to show their support,” he added. “Stay tuned!”
