We’re heading back to the Arconia, Only Murders fans! Season 3 is coming in hot with some amazing special guest stars. Season 2 of the Hulu original left fans wanting more with a wild cliffhanger, but all of your favorites are back in action for season 3. Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez are all reprising their roles alongside Paul Rudd, who was teased at the end of season 2, and the great Meryl Streep.
Here’s everything we know about season 3 of Only Murders in the Building on Hulu.
What is season 3 of Only Murders about?
At the end of season 2, Oliver mounted his return to Broadway. Unfortunately, leading man Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) died on stage during the opening night performance. That sets us up for the plot of season 3, with the big whodunit being “who killed the handsome actor with three first names?”

Hulu has finally released the trailer for Only Murders in the Building season 3:
The trailer gives us a better idea of what to expect from the third installment of the mystery comedy and highlights a few key players: Meryl Streep is playing Loretta, an actress who can’t seem to make it through a table read for Oliver’s show without dropping into an accent; Jesse Williams plays an investigator and a potential love interest for Mabel; and Rudd is douchey leading man Ben Glenroy. It’s rare to see Rudd playing a jerk these days, but he’s still got it.
Who are the new and returning cast members for season 3?
So, the Meryl Streep bomb has already been dropped, and, as confirmed, Paul Rudd is returning for season 3 following that season 2 cliffhanger (shocking, as we know he’s tight with Selena Gomez). As mentioned, Grey’s Anatomy alum Jesse Williams has also joined the cast alongside Ashley Park, who recently appeared in Beef and Joy Ride.
Returning for season 3 are Michael Cyril Creighton, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Jackie Hoffman, Jane Lynch, and more. PLUS the new season features original music from the composers of La La Land, Waitress, and Hairspray.
When will Only Murders in the Building season 3 be released?
We can look forward to more Only Murders in the Building when it returns to Hulu on August 8.
While Hulu has not said anything about season 4, given the success of the show and the amazing casting for season 3, it would not be far-fetched to assume the show will get picked up again. If you haven’t seen the first two seasons of Only Murders in the Building, they are streaming on Hulu.
