Self-proclaimed evangelist intrudes on customers at Five Guys with a message on hell. Then she warns them to repent: ‘Can’t save you’

Unholy interruptions.

A self-proclaimed evangelist walked into a Five Guys and delivered an unsolicited sermon about hell to diners trying to eat their meal in peace. The video, posted by Whitney Lynn, @whitneylynn123 on TikTok, shows her standing in the middle of the restaurant and warning diners that good behavior and church attendance won’t save them from eternal damnation.

Within hours, the clip racked up a number of views and sparked a heated debate about religious boundaries in public spaces. Lynn opened with a cheerful, “Everybody at Five Guys, happy Sunday,” before pivoting to a darker message. “The wages of our sin is death. Hell forever,” she told the room. “Apart from Jesus, no one’s getting to heaven. You might be a good person today. You might even went to church. But that can’t save you.”

Her delivery was blunt, and her tone left little room for comfort. She wrapped up by urging repentance and offering a blessing, but the damage was already done. Diners, who never asked for a sermon, were left staring at their meals while Lynn declared their souls were at stake.

The reaction online was split

Some commenters praised her boldness, flooding the video with “Amens” and “God bless yous.” Others called her behavior out with statements like, “These people don’t deserve this.” One user wrote, “Can we not torture people while they’re eating?” Another said, “Not the time or place.” A few even joked about her approach, with one saying, “Unbroken streak of zero minds changed. Keep it up!” Another offered some advice, saying, “omg you really need to work on your openers..”

How amazing is God? ?? Today, I ended up in a town I don’t normally go to because I had to get my chiropractic appointment in a different location. My daughter and I stopped for lunch before I open-air preached, and afterward, a young man who worked there came up to me. He was so sweet and meek, and he thanked me for preaching. He told me he was amazed by the courage and boldness it took. ? I got to pray over him, encourage him to keep following Jesus and to be bold in his own way. My daughter even gave him a “Jesus Saves” bracelet. ❤️ It was such a beautiful divine appointment. Sometimes we preach and don’t get to see what happens afterward, but today God allowed me to see a little glimpse of the impact. I don’t preach for applause or recognition. I simply obey when the Lord tells me to go. But moments like this are such beautiful confirmation. Keep going, young man. Stay strong in the Lord. Keep following Jesus. Be bold. Your obedience matters. ??? God truly orders our steps. What felt like a random change of plans was actually a DIVINE APPOINTMENT. ✝️ And don’t forget to download my new song, “Evermore,” available on all platforms! ?❤️ Visit my Etsy store, EvangelistWhitney, to see some of the shirts I’ve created. Lynn, however, seemed unfazed. In her caption, she framed the incident as a divine appointment, writing about a young Five Guys employee who thanked her for preaching. “He was so sweet and meek,” she said, adding that she prayed over him and gave him a “Jesus Saves” bracelet.

This isn’t Lynn’s first run-in with public preaching controversies. According to The Washington Post, just last year, she was removed from an Alaska Airlines flight for delivering an impromptu sermon during a delay. In a series of videos she posted, Lynn can be seen standing in the aisle, telling passengers that God’s timing was perfect and that Jesus loved them. The flight crew, however, didn’t share her enthusiasm.

An airline employee approached her and asked her to leave, citing safety concerns. Lynn called the incident “spiritual warfare” and claimed demons didn’t like the name of Jesus. Alaska Airlines later confirmed she was banned indefinitely from their flights, as well as Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air.

Lynn’s antics raise serious questions about religious boundaries and fear tactics

Lynn’s Five Guys stunt taps into a larger conversation about where evangelism crosses the line into harassment. Preaching in public is protected speech, but critics argue that ambushing someone in confined spaces – like a restaurant or an airplane – turns faith into an intrusion. Diners at Five Guys couldn’t exactly walk away without abandoning their meals, and passengers on a plane are a literal captive audience.

Lynn, however, sees things differently. She’s defended her actions by saying Jesus never limited where or when the gospel should be shared. For her, public spaces are fair game, whether it’s a fast-food joint or a crowded flight.

I’m telling you, demons are real. This guy literally tried to shut the door on me. I had a feeling he wasn’t going to notify the airline, and sure enough, he didn’t. I called the airline, and they had no idea what had happened. Praise God for His favor—they didn’t charge me a fee. I never even told them the situation. That was the Lord. He tried to set me up so I’d have to pay to change my flight after they kicked me off the plane. But wait until you see what he tries to do next. It’s unbelievable. I truly pray for this man. The timing of the Five Guys video is notable. It arrives amid a wave of viral preacher confrontations, from street evangelists clashing with Pride attendees to airplane sermons gone wrong. These incidents keep reigniting the same question: When does sharing faith become boundary-violating harassment?

Lynn’s approach leans heavily into fear-based messaging. Instead of offering hope or comfort, she warns of eternal damnation, framing repentance as the only escape. It’s a tactic that’s guaranteed to grab attention, but it’s also one that leaves a lot of people feeling uncomfortable.

The backlash isn’t just about the message, though

It’s about the setting. Five Guys is a place where people go to enjoy a meal, not to be preached at. The same goes for airplanes, where passengers expect to travel without unsolicited sermons. Lynn’s videos suggest she sees these spaces as opportunities for ministry, but for many, they’re just another example of someone ignoring basic social boundaries.

Her Alaska Airlines incident is a perfect example. She recorded herself preaching during a delay, only to be asked to leave because the crew didn’t feel safe. She later posted videos of her confrontation with airline staff, framing the removal as an attack on her faith.

This is another prophetic warning that I proclaimed on Spirit Airlines when I landed in Los Angeles on January 3. This is the second time I tried to release it, as the flight attendant tried to stop me twice, literally getting in my face. Little did I know that just a few days later, these fires would start. Of course, many people did not listen, but I know the Lord had me there for such a time as this. God always sends a warning before destruction, as stated in Hebrews 2:1. I pray for many to turn to the only one who can save, restore, and give salvation, Jesus. Lynn’s persistence is undeniable

Despite being banned from multiple airlines, she’s made it clear she has no plans to stop speaking about her religious beliefs in public. Her Five Guys video is just the latest in a long line of viral moments, each one sparking the same debate. Is she sharing her faith, or is she harassing strangers? The answer depends on who you ask.

For her supporters, she’s a bold evangelist unafraid to speak the truth. For her critics, she’s an intrusive presence who turns private moments into public spectacles.

Lynn’s content is designed to create maximum impact and be shareable. The Five Guys clip is no exception. It’s short, dramatic, and guaranteed to provoke a reaction. Whether that reaction is positive or negative doesn’t seem to matter to her. She’s on a mission, and she’s not backing down. For diners at Five Guys, though, the experience was likely less about divine appointments and more about unholy interruptions to their lunch.
