Things We Saw Today: The Muppets Get Spooky With a Halloween Haunted Mansion Special

Recommended Videos

Who here loves the Muppets? Well, you might be in for a spooky time as Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and the rest of the gang head to the Haunted Mansion for a new special on Disney+! Muppets Haunted Mansion is coming this autumn and that’s music to my ears.

The Muppets, which consist of characters like Kermit and his love for Miss Piggy or Pepe the King Prawn, have been around since the 70s and came from the wonderful mind of Jim Henson. Many of us have adored the character-driven puppets all our lives and will continue to watch them take on new adventures. This time around, it’s Halloween night, and according to Disney+, Gonzo has challenged everyone “to spend one very daring night in the most grim-grinning place on earth: The Haunted Mansion.”

One of my favorite movies growing up was Muppets Treasure Island and from there, the world of the Muppets has only continued to grow. Muppets Haunted Mansion feels like the fun, distracting kind of content we need right now. While the special’s announcement came back in May, we now get to see some of the characters all spiffed up for Halloween.

Today, Entertainment Weekly shared a first look at the special with pictures of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy dressed up as each other and Gonzo and Pepe looking very snazzy in their best jackets.

I don’t care what this is, I don’t care if it is just the Muppets going through the amusement park ride. I’m here for it and ready to enjoy Kermit, Gonzo, Piggy, and the rest of the crew all dealing with some ghosts. Is it Halloween season yet?
