We here at TMS are big fans of Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and we’re clearly not alone. The critically acclaimed series, which was nominated for both GLAAD and Emmy awards, has been renewed for a third season. And in more good news, executive producer Noelle Stevenson has announced that Geena Davis would be joining the voice cast as Huntara.

Huntara, who appeared in the original She-Ra: Princess of Power Filmation series, is a fierce Silaxian warrior. She is first sent to attack She-Ra, but quickly realizes that the princess is noble and joins her ranks. Davis joins the ranks of other great voice actors on the series, which includes AJ Michalka, Karen Fukuhara, Lorraine Toussaint, Vella Lovell, Sandra Oh, and many more.

Davis and She-Ra are a match made in heaven, as the Netflix series is home to strong female characters. Davis is committed to positive portrayals of women in media, especially in kids media, via her non-profit research group The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Davis formed the group in 2004 after she noticed that the shows her daughter was watching had few female role models.

We’re excited to see what Davis brings to the world of She-Ra. The series returns for season three in August.
