The Toy Story 4 Trailer Made Me Cry With a Beach Boys Song? What Is Happening?

Recommended Videos

For those of us who have grown up with Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story franchise, this next installment is pretty much a perfect example of the millennial experience, and we can’t wait. Essentially, Forky, a spork that just wants to be thrown away, is trying to escape from being a toy. When Woody sees him trying to escape, he jumps after him, and they meet up with Little Bo Peep, and she shows them what the world could be at a carnival.

The problem is that this trailer features “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys and is making all the grown fans of the Toy Story franchise question our mortality, and … thanks, Disney!

This movie is maybe going to break an entire generation of kids even more than Toy Story 3 did, something that I truly thought was impossible. Going to college and watching Toy Story 3, seeing Andy grow up, hurt more than it should have, but hey, maybe we’re a generation of people who are soft at heart. Either way, we’re all relating to a spork.

Toy Story 4 hits theaters this June 21st. Be prepared, bring your tissue box, and I’ll bring my Woody the Cowboy doll.
