In case you weren’t already frustrated with Lindsay Lohan and her terrible comments about #MeToo and Harvey Weinstein, now we have even more reason to be done with her as she harassed and stalked a family of Syrian refugees through Moscow. Sadly, this is very real. There’s video evidence, because someone was smart enough to record her Instagram livestream of the harassment and put it up on YouTube.
Lohan opens the video by saying ““Hey everyone, I just want to show you a family that I met. They’re a Syrian refugee family that I’m really worried about. They really need help.” Right off the bat, she comes across as condescending, trying to show off how kind she is the world via social media and exploiting a homeless family. And when they aren’t interested in engaging with her or accepting her help, she quickly turns sour.
“I won’t leave until I take you. Now I know who you are. Don’t f–k with me,” she tells the family after they reject her offer to take the two children with her; she also says “If someone is offering them a home and a bed, which is me at the moment, give it to them.” She adopts a Middle Eastern accent, telling them “don’t f–k with Pakistan,” and accuses them of human trafficking and “ruining Arab culture.” At this point in time, it would be easy to believe it’s clickbait, except for the fact we have hard, cold proof that she actually behaved in such a terrible, offensive fashion.
Eventually, the family tries to leave and Lohan follows them, only stoping when the mother pushes her down. The next video shows her crying and talking about how scared she is, as if she didn’t just frighten a mother into acting in self defense. Thankfully, that’s the end of this horrible saga.
First off, Lohan is done. Over. Cancelled. There is literally no excuse for her behavior whatsoever. Regardless of her good intentions, she approached this family to use them to gain points on social media and when they didn’t immediately fall for her act, she became aggressive and harassed them. She literally stalked them through the streets. No wonder the mother acted the way she did; if someone was trying to take my children away from me and threatening me, I’d push her too.
Also, if you were one of the many commentators on the video expressing support for Lohan (which we also can see in the video), you are part of the problem. It doesn’t matter if you’re the number one fan of someone, seeing them behave like this is inexcusable, as is cheering them on. Lohan wasn’t about to listen to anyone, but the fact that people are telling hater to stop as she’s behaving in such a manner pretty much makes them complicit in her behavior. If you see something like that, especially if you’re safely on the other side of a screen, you should probably stand up and say something to stop it.
This week has been a hellish trashfire of a week, and this is just another example of why the world probably needs to stop for a while. Seriously. Also, Lohan’s career sort of needs to be over now. At least, we can all stop remembering her turns in The Parent Trap and Mean Girls fondly, because she’s just a bad person. Just like fetch, we can stop trying to make her happen.
