Basil Jones and Adrian Kohler created a number of incredibly lifelike ridable horse puppets for use in the play War Horse, about a horse named Joey and a boy named Albert who are swept up and apart by the events of World War I, the war where we realized that many things, including horses, were completely unsuited for use in modern warfare. If you want to skip right to the reveal, and skip a lot of explanatory puppet building, then 9:00 is your number. But you’ll miss quotes like this:

An actor struggles to die on stage, but a puppet struggles to live.

Well, there’s your Pinocchio story right there.

(thanks, Margaret!)
