Things We Saw Today: The Flash Movie Has Found Its New Directors

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the duo behind Spider-Man: Homecoming and Game Night, have been selected as the directors for Warner Bros. and DC’s solo Flash movie. We also know that Ezra Miller, who played the role in Justice League, will be returning for the film, and that it will be based on the Flashpoint storyline. Given Daley and Goldstein’s comedy-heavy history, it seems like Warner Bros. and DC might be going for a more comic tone with this one—which feels appropriate to me, given Miller’s strengths. Then again, this movie has already gone through a few directors, so we’ll see if Daley and Goldstein stay on. But what do you think about the choice? (via io9)

  • Over at Vanity Fair, Darryn King wrote a wonderful, warm piece about the importance of Lisa Simpson. “Lisa’s basically a huge nerd, yet you don’t feel like punching her in the face every time she says something smart,” says writer David X. Cohen in the piece. “… With Lisa, you just feel like hugging her. She just wants what’s right, a world ruled by logic and justice. It’s a tricky performance Yeardley [Smith] pulls off. She makes Lisa into the type of nerd that every nerd aspires to be.”
  • Whitney Kimball at Jezebel wrote about Saturday Night Live‘s weird punching-down in some of this week’s skits about sexual assault and harassment.
  • The Republican Party heard that it was Women’s History Month and legitimately thought, “What a perfect occasion to celebrate Donald Trump, a man who has been accused of sexually harassing more than a dozen women!” These people are beyond parody.

That’s all I’ve got for today, TMSers! What’d you see today?
