“The Cell Block Mansplaingo”: A New Catchy Anthem for Women Tired of Being Interrupted

Recommended Videos

Sketch team Tiny Muscles have done their own take on the Chicago classic “Cell Block Tango” to warn mansplainers about what’ll happen the next time they try to explain periods to their girlfriends.

Here, instead of “Pop! Six! Squish! Uh uh! Cicero, Lipschitz!” we get Kat Purgal as “Um, Actually”, Kelly Vrooman as “I looked It Up”, Nadia Benavides as “That’s Not True”, and Angela Mclafferty as “Bullshit.” Dave Cain plays the host, and Alex Walters the various Mansplainers.

The dancing and singing are on point, and the lyrics include magnificent gems like:

“I met Terrence from San Francisco and we hit it off right away. We had a lot to discuss, like art! Oh, Terrence had a lot to say about art. Like one time he spent 30 minutes telling me how Picasso tore his ear off. I tried to tell him, ‘It was Van Gogh who did it.’ But he insisted it was Picasso because, ’I looked it up.’ Believe Wikipedia over an art major.”

Also, for all the men ready to clarify the meaning of mansplaining and want to explain how the example given aren’t accurate? There’s a surprise for you at the end.
