Thor: Ragnarok Writer Stephany Folsom to Pen Toy Story 4

Recommended Videos

Toy Story 4 has gone through some speed bumps. The release of the film was pushed back and switched release dates with Incredibles 2 and lost Rashida Jones and Will McCormack who shared some unflattering accounts regarding the studio’s treatment of diversity. With the general skepticism that we have towards continuous sequels (especially when Toy Story 3 was such a great send-off), it’s hard to predict exactly how the production will go. However, the fourth installment—a love story between Woody and Bo Peep—has found a promising new writer.

Stephany Folsom is set to pen the new film. Folsom previously worked on 1969: A Space Odyssey, or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon and Thor: Ragnarok, though she made headlines not too long ago when she was denied writing credit by the Writer’s Guild of America for her work. Not only has Folsom worked on interesting and original films, the delight and success of Ragnarok makes her taking over the script especially exciting.

Toy Story 4 is still set for a June 21, 2019 release with Josh Cooley as director and Tom Hanks and Tim Allen returning to their roles.
