There’s New It Footage and I Don’t Know How I’m Going to Sit Through a Whole Movie of This Creepiness

"Where ya goin'?" AWAY.

Heads up for a jump scare in the clip.

Despite the never-ending nightmares, the creepy sound of children’s laughter that my walls now carry, and the distorted outline of a once-human that now haunts only the periphery of my vision, we’ve been closely following updates and new information on the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s It.

In this newest clip, we see poor hypochondriac Eddie Kaspbrak (Jack Dylan Grazer) encounter It in a scene that’ll be familiar to book readers. Bill Skarsgard’s It carries his signature red balloons to do that terrifying slow reveal, and while we’ve heard a bit of his voice in previous trailers, he’s speaking a lot more in this clip. There definitely seems to be a departure from Tim Curry’s version of Pennywise, and I’m curious/scared to see more of his performance.

Eddie, or course, stares in complete terror instead of doing the reasonable thing.

“Where ya goin’?”

THE OTHER DIRECTION AT THE FASTEST SPEED MY TINY CHILDREN FEET WILL CARRY ME.

“You look like a nice boy, I bet you have a lot of friends”

NO I’M NOT I DON’T HAVE A SINGLE FRIEND PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE STRANGER DANGER STRANGER DANGER I AM ACTIVELY RUNNING AWAY RIGHT NOW.

With every new bit of footage, I’m more and more excited that cinematographer Chung-hoon Chung of Oldboy, Stoker, and The Handmaiden was brought on for the film. The new footage is cut with some other scenes and each one is framed so well to draw out as much horror and dread as possible. Collider also points out that Andrés Muschietti’s It will be 135 minutes long, so be prepared to sit for 2+ hours of abject fear.

If you need me I’ll just be speeding-walking home and not making with eye contact with anyone.
