New Steven Universe Provides a Shining, Rose-Colored Light In the Darkness

Recommended Videos

Sure, there’s a lot of hot garbage going on these days, but let’s not forget the good in the world. Case in point: Steven Universe, about as true a bastion of good as exists right now. We’ve had to do without Steven and the Crystal Gems for what feels like a too-long hiatus, but now Steven’s back to make 2017 a little brighter. Check out the clip from “Steven’s Dream” above!

The new season of Steven Universe begins with a full week of back-to-back episodes, beginning with “Steven’s Dream” on Monday, January 30th at 7PM. In this first episode, according to a press release from Cartoon Network, “A strange dream prompts Steven to search for answers.” The rest of the schedule is as follows (and note that Jan. 30th has a second episode!):

  • Monday, Jan. 30: “Adventures in Light Distortion” – Steven and the Gems take off on a search-and-recovery mission.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 31: “Gem Heist” – The Gems try to pull off a heist.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 1: “The Zoo” – Steven visits a special zoo.
  • Thursday, Feb. 2: “That Will Be All” – Steven and the Gems make a daring escape!

After that week-long Steven-stravaganza (which we’ll be covering as part of our regular Steven Universe recap series with Vrai Kaiser), the show will get settled into its new weekly timeslot Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.

I’ve gotta say, it’s gonna take some Steven-sized heart and positivity to get through the next few years, which is why I’m trying to remember that…

If you’re evil and you’re on the rise
You can count on [all] of us taking you down
‘Cause we’re good and evil never beats us
We’ll win the fight, and then go out for pizzas…

See you all at Fish Stew Pizza!
