Exclusive: Nick Offerman Voices a Sympathetic Policeman With a Mustache in New My Life as a Zucchini Clip

The French-Swiss stop-motion movie My Life as a Zucchini is coming to U.S. theaters soon and if their recent Oscar nomination wasn’t enough to convince you to see it, maybe hearing Nick Offerman’s voice will.

In a new clip from the movie, Offerman’s character sits down with Zucchini for a grim conversation about taking him to a foster home. There’s a heavy atmosphere of grief in the scene, but also bits of dark humor that stem from Zucchini’s perspective as a child. The film as a whole embraces both these sides and balances them masterfully.

The film’s English voice actors also feel really well cast, and some even bear a strong physical resemblance! Ellen Page, for example, is a perfect fit for voicing another orphan named Camille and Offerman has even joked about being cast as Raymond, the kind policeman who takes care of the young, abruptly orphaned boy Zucchini.
