Emma Watson Sings a Familiar Tune in New Beauty and the Beast Clip

Recommended Videos

If you watched the Golden Globes last night, you probably caught the Beauty and the Beast clip that showcased some of Emma Watson’s singing. We’ve heard a bit of Watson’s singing in toy form and in this clip of “Something There,” and here we see her performing “Belle (Reprise)” on what looks like a beautiful windswept hill.

We knew that the live-action retelling of the Disney classic would include the original music, but the way this teaser was cut with their first encounter and Gaston’s mob definitely creates a more eerie and menacing tone. After all, little does Belle know when she’s singing this that her “adventure in the great wide somewhere” is just around the corner in the form of an enchanted castle and a cursed Beast! Considering how colorful and beautiful that hill scene looks though, it seems unlikely that the actual scene will be anything more than charming and full of longing.

Here’s Paige O’Hara’s version for comparison:

Beauty and the Beast comes out March 17th, and will include three new songs by Alan Menken and Tim Rice. Currently, we know of a lullaby called “Days in the Sun” and a love song from the Beast titled “Forever More.” What did you think about the TV spot?
