[VIDEO] The Mary Sue Staff Explains Why We Love the Harry Potter Movie Adaptations

Recommended Videos

We here at The Mary Sue make no secret of our Harry Potter fandom. Almost every single one of us here on the TMS staff is a huge fan of both the books and the films, so we all decided to go through every single one of the movies and explain our favorite part of each adaptation. Why now? Well, today’s the release date for Fantastic Beasts, so that’s our excuse, but mostly, we just really like Harry Potter.

This YouTube playlist starts off with Keisha describing her favorite part in Sorcerer’s Stone, then Sam takes on Chamber of Secrets, Charline discusses Azkaban, Jessica does Goblet of Fire, Teresa handles The Order of the Phoenix, I (Maddy) explain my fav part of Half-Blood Prince, and then it’s back to Keisha again for Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Jessica again for Deathly Hallows Part 2. Whew!

Regardless of how you feel about Fantastic Beasts (and we do have our reservations about it), we all appreciated using the movie’s release as an excuse to go back and revisit what felt so special to us about the original Harry Potter series. We hope you enjoy our celebration of these fantastic adaptations, and, as always, we encourage you let us know your own favorite parts of the movie versions in the comments.
