Amazon worker crashes out after seeing what customer purchased. Everyone says its a completely normal order: ‘You’re mad at the wrong person ma’am’

An Amazon worker films herself mid-crashout after realizing that someone ordered liquid laundry detergent that has leaked everywhere.

TikTok creator @zicoissad posted the video from what appears to be her workstation.

“Y’all want your packages so bad? Who’s ordering laundry detergent through a box?” she asks, clearly in distress.

The laundry detergent is all over the surface in front of @zicoissad and is also all over her hands. It’s unclear what else the detergent leaked onto, but judging by @zicoissad’s reaction, it’s a lot.

Is It Normal to Order Liquid Laundry Detergent From Amazon?

In the comments section of the video, viewers said it’s actually pretty normal to order liquid laundry detergent from Amazon. Several offered plausible explanations for why someone might make that decision.

“A postpartum mom who has $200 on an Amazon gift card,” said one viewer. 

“The 96-year-old lady stuck at home,” a second person said. 

“Let’s reframe the question,” a third person said. “Why is Amazon packing things so inappropriately? Most items across the world are shipped in boxes and arrive just fine.”

Multiple commenters agreed with that sentiment. “Girl, take it up with your coworker,” wrote one. “Not us.”

Another person wrote, “Yeah, because when I order detergent, I order it specifically to be shipped unsecured, loosely in a big box so it spills everywhere. That’s on me for sure.”

But Is Buying Liquid Laundry Detergent Online a Good Idea?

Obviously, it’s possible to buy liquid laundry detergent on Amazon and other online retailers, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good idea. 

One person posted a thread to Reddit’s r/wellthatsucks three years ago with a photo (since removed) of a tech product packaged alongside liquid laundry detergent. Needless to say, the detergent leaked in transit.

“It’s a bad idea to order liquid detergent through Amazon, period,” one person wrote. “It’s always packed like [expletive] and … when it breaks it normally ruins everyone else’s stuff it was grouped with, too.”

A second person said, “The same thing happened to me when I ordered shampoo. Thank god that was all I ordered, because it seemed like a fourth of the bottle emptied itself into the bag.”

Other people said they’ve adapted how they order because of this issue. “I made sure not to order some pesticide until after my food order shipped,” one person said.

How to Purchase Liquid Laundry Online Without It Breaking in Transit

Shoppers on this Bogleheads forum thread offered mixed opinions on this question. Some say they’ve ordered from Amazon and other retailers with no issues. Others said they’ve had mixed results with different items at different retailers at different times. Issues with liquid items like laundry detergent leaking don’t appear to be exclusively attributed to Amazon. 

“For me, the convenience of home delivery still outweighs the risk of potentially having to ask for a refund—especially if the price is comparable to the price in local stores,” one person wrote.
