The Election Is Everywhere, So Here’s How You Can Watch It (and Some Red Pandas), I Guess

Recommended Videos

We’re mere hours away from knowing who the next President of the United States of America is going to be, and while yes, election coverage has been pouring out of every conceivable hole through which information can spill, the internet isn’t quite done with it all just yet. So if you, like many of us here at TMS, are just going to lean solidly into the wind and deal with the maelstrom of election day coverage, here are your best bets for watching it all go down right here on your very own computer–no cable subscription required.

  • Both PBS NewsHour and C-SPAN will have live coverage on YouTube (warning: both autoplay).
  • The ever-popular blog FiveThirtyEight will have live coverage later today, though they also have a live blog running right now, aggregating tweets, blog posts, and other social media posts from reporters and citizens live at polling places across America.
  • CNN and ABC News are both running coverage on Facebook Live, with CNN running right now on up into until they call a winner.

If you’re someone who owns a VR headset and you really want to experience the full immersion of this election, then… what’s wrong, are you okay? Why. I am concerned for you.

Joking aside, AltspaceVR will be hosting a VR election special along with NBC News. You can RSVP for the event over on their Eventbrite page.

Last, but certainly not least, comes one of the most important aspects of this complete nightmare of an election: self-care.

Thanks to the San Francisco Zoo, you can unwind (or perhaps skip election coverage completely) with their live stream of their red panda habitat. By the time you read this, the stream may be over (those pandas sure are finicky), but worry not; it’ll be archived for your perusal later.

What I’m saying is we should just watch some red pandas together. Okay? Okay.

Go vote. Then come home and either relax or keep biting your nails. Up to you.
