Of all the unanswered questions we had at the end of Stranger Things‘ first season, perhaps the one that rang out loudest was, “Is Steve Harrington actually Jean-Ralphio Saperstein’s dad?” … OK, That may only be because Jean-Ralphio was scream-singing it in our ears, but we’re happy to have our answer nonetheless.

This was a theory previously offered up by Parks and Rec‘s Ben Schwartz, based entirely on looks and personality, and in no way canon to either show—except for in our hearts and on the Internet. Now, thanks to that same Internet, we get to watch the two imperially coiffed fictional characters have the father/son time they always deserved but were deprived of when Jean-Ralphio was shipped off to live with Dr. Saperstein, probably in an alternate universe.

With Parks and Rec over and Stranger Things season 2 seeming interminably far away, we’ll gladly take some more father-son adventures from Joe Keery and Ben Schwartz in the meantime. Or some more of the show’s child actors displaying their musical prowess. Or more mashups. Basically, we’ll take anything Stranger Things-related.
