We haven’t seen Batman v Superman yet (most of us, anyway), and even if we had, it’s unlikely we’d be able to tell you anything—either for journalistic reasons or because we’d be too busy losing it over how great Gal Gadot was. That’s what we’ve been led to be believe, anyway.
The superhero showdown premiered yesterday, which means the lucky few who got to see it have taken to the Internet to share their initial impressions, and we can all live vicariously through them. The response seems overall pretty positive, which is no surprise considering all the comic fans out there who will love it no matter what and the likelihood that they’re the ones who got to see it.
Something you might not have been expecting (but still hoping for) is the reaction to Wonder Woman, who for much of the movie’s lead up and marketing campaign seemed overshadowed by the heroes who got their names in the title. After long-ago fear that she’d be relegated to just a cameo, it sounds like she might just steal the show:
Saw #Batman #BVSPremiere. One word: #WonderWoman. Also, best after party. #Affleck nails it. pic.twitter.com/Hck1SRtJfv

And really, she’s earned it, after waiting so long to make it into movie theaters.
#BVSPremiere amazing @ #RadioCityMusicHall! #GalGadot as #WonderWoman had me wanting more! Solid & very cool! https://t.co/sLnRIsPftd

Oh, and the rest of the movie is pretty good, too, it seems:
@BenAffleck played a great #Batman #BVSPremiere

So lucky to have been at the #BVSPremiere last night and I still can’t believe how amazing it was. Not good. Not great. Amazing. #BvS

Affleck’s Bruce Wayne may be the best on screen to date. #BatmanvSuperman #BVSPremiere

But of course, we have to take the superfan reactions with a grain of salt, so we’ll reserve judgment until setting our own eyes on it. That said, not everything was perfect, even in early reactions.
So: anyone else at last night’s #BVSPremiere remember the first of two transmisogynistic jokes? Something about a wig? #BatmanvSuperman

Good or bad (please let it be good), we’ll probably have a lot to talk about with this movie in the coming weeks. It’s also got an entire film universe to set up, so we’ll soon know a lot more about what to expect in DC’s Justice League movies and the rest of their movie universe.
