Lisa Frank didn’t design and release this digital deck of Tarot cards — but artist Ariel Hart has achieved quite a remarkable homage to Frank’s artistic stylings here with this colorful collection. “Colorful” is an understatement, really; the full set of cards is truly a feast for the eyes!
How does a tiara-and-tutu-clad, butterfly-winged frog watching over a group of wide-eyed baby cheetahs signify “Judgment”? Because, that’s why.
The entire collection is a beautiful tribute to Lisa Frank’s style, although I’m not sure whether she’d see it that way. (Lisa Frank is such a famously secretive person that we’ll probably never know.) For any fans of Tarot and Lisa Frank, though, Ariel Hart has created a beautiful and bizarre gift.
If you like digital fortune-telling and Tarot cards, Leigh Alexander’s researched collection of other examples will probably strike your fancy — especially her link to a personalized incantation of power to ward off Internet garbage, which will likely resonate with a few of you.
