Star Wars: Episode VIII Photo Leaks Reveal Tuxedo-Clad Aliens Aboard the Titanic (or Something)

Recommended Videos

The latest batch of photo leaks from fans/spies on the Star Wars: Episode VIII set reveal more about those tuxedo-clad aliens we saw in the last set of leaked photos. Last time we saw photos from the Episode VIII set, I thought all of those characters in formal-wear and white opera gloves looked like they fell out of Interview with the Vampire—turns out I should have guessed Titanic, because this time around, all the aliens are on a boat (!!??).

Not just any boat—it’s a gorgeous, massive cruise-liner, all of which will probably be changed in post to look way more futuristic. The ship used in these shots is called the Sea Star, and filming took place off the coast of Croatia, which probably resulted in some beautiful views. This photo of various characters clad in formal-wear standing around fancy tables on the deck of the boat shows us a glimpse, on the left side, of some of the futuristic sets used to create whatever sea-faring vessel the aliens might be aboard in Episode VIII.

I mean, I’m assuming they are aboard a boat in the movie … or maybe they’re on a floating island or other structure over water, who knows? It’s entirely possible that none of this will make it into the final cut of the film, but it’s still pretty cool to see all of the aliens decked out in their finest. What do you think about these Star Wars-meets-Titanic photos?
