Matt Damon has been feuding with Jimmy Kimmel since just about the show’s inception. It all came to a head last night during Kimmel’s Oscar special where he had Ben Affleck on to talk about Batman v Superman. Of course, when Affleck showed up Vincent Adultman-style, Kimmel instantly knew something was up. And who can you expect to be very close by when Affleck’s up to some shenanigans? Matt freakin’ Damon, of course.
Friends, this entire segment is just pretty damn weird. But in case you weren’t aware: the Damon v Kimmel: Dawn of Running Gags feud has been going on since the show began. As a joke after a particularly bad show, Kimmel said, “Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time.” Kimmel tried to think of any A-list celebrity that he says he’d never bump off like that, and Damon was the first one that came to mind. The gag ran for years, resulting in a bunch of hilarious gag videos of their “celebrity feud.”
