Harrison Ford to Host Sneak Peek Into Star Wars Land, Disneyland’s Massive Expansion

Recommended Videos

In celebration of Disneyland’s 60th anniversary this year, Disney will be airing The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60. One of the things about this special that has us most excited is a preview of the brand new Star Wars land, which is currently in development. On top of that, the Star Wars preview section will be hosted by none other than the captain of the Millennium Falcon himself, Harrison Ford.

They haven’t really released any other details aside from who’s hosting the segment, so we’re not sure what we’re about to see. Plenty of things have crossed our desktops already, including leaked layouts, concept art, and rumors, which are about as numerous as the grains of sand on Tatooine Jakku.

Bit of context: way, way back in the olden times of the 1950s and 60s, Walt Disney produced a show called The Wonderful World of Disney, which was soon after renamed Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color. The show focused on the Disney company and Disneyland, peeling back the curtain to cast some light onto the things that go into helping the studio and the theme park run. When it came to the theme park, the show served an early, fascinating look into experience design and the kind of imagination that running a theme park requires.

Nowadays, the show’s name is often trotted out on special occasions to highlight some of Disney’s own stars, television shows, and movies. If this Star Wars land reveal matches up to the things that Disney himself used to share, then this special could prove to be one of the best looks we get into Star Wars land for some time.

Will you be tuning in when the show premieres on Feburary 21st?
