Rogue One: A Star Wars Story May Include a Darth Vader Cameo

Recommended Videos

Have you missed Darth Vader? He might just show up again in Rogue One: A Story Wars Story, the spin-off film about the Rebel mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. We’re already excited to see Felicity Jones and Donnie Yen co-starring in the much-anticipated film, but the rumor that Vader will appear does sound exciting.

According to Making Star Wars, Rogue One hired Brian Muir to meticulously recreate Vader’s costume; Muir was the original sculptor of Vader’s helmet in A New Hope. Rumor has it that James Earl Jones will return to voice the character; he did already do so for Star Wars Rebels, so it seems reasonable to expect he’d return in this case as well.

It’s still only a rumor that Vader will appear at all, admittedly, but the chances seem good on this one, given the time period during which the movie is set. Rogue One takes places shortly before A New Hope, so including Darth Vader in an ominous cameo sounds perfect. Here’s hoping that Rogue One makes the most of its storytelling opportunities here.
