A Much-Beloved Character is Returning to Agent Carter (Sort Of)

Exciting news for fans! We now know that Lyndsy Fonseca will be returning to Agent Carter to reprise her role as Angie Martinelli in the show’s second season–but with something of a twist. We already have the info that Peggy and Jarvis will be on a different coast this time around, and true to form, season 2 isn’t going to shy away from depicting the glitz and glamour we all remember and love from old Hollywood.

This is what we understand so far, based on what executive producer Michele Fazekas revealed in a chat with Entertainment Weekly:

Episode 8 ends with a cliffhanger where Peggy and Jarvis get in big trouble and are knocked out. Episode 9 begins with a dream sequence that starts in black and white.

Then, just like the classic movie The Wizard of Oz, everything changes in an explosion of color–and we’re going to see a full dance number choreographed and performed by several of the professionals on the show Dancing with the Stars. But where does Angie come into play in this dream sequence ep? Per Fazekas:

She’s [the] conscience and she’s speaking the things that Peggy maybe can’t say to herself. It ties things back together from the first season and it’s connecting all of these things in a way that only a dream can do.

Considering that this will be an episode that mostly plays out in Peggy’s unconscious mind, it’ll be interesting to see what’s been brewing beneath the surface that Peggy hasn’t been able to really acknowledge–until it happens on-screen.
