The Force Awakens Will Be on Netflix in Canada First

First that hot prime minister, and now this? Such an injustice.

The good news is that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be on Netflix! The bad news is that unless you live in Canada, the waiting game will be a bit longer for you.

As of right now, the territory has been the only one to secure streaming rights to the film, which everyone and anyone (including the film’s stars) are majorly hyped for.

The reason for this is because within the United States, Starz actually has the rights to all of Disney’s films in the year 2015—which includes The Force Awakens. Netflix U.S.’s deal with Disney doesn’t start until 2016, so it’s literally missing out on this by a manner of weeks. Weeks! I am bereft.

However, Netflix Canada was all over it when it came to securing the rights to Disney’s movies in 2015, so that’s why Star Wars fans up north will be able to tune in as long as they have a subscription.

Anyone feel like moving to Canada next year?
