Watch Speedruns, Cure Cancer With the Awesome Games Done Quick Charity Marathon

Speedruns: The next best thing to becoming a doctor?

Recommended Videos

Games are finished with sonic speed, computer programs play games better than you, and cancer gets its butt kicked: Welcome to the 2015 edition of the Awesome Games Done Quick charity speedrun marathon to benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

As of this writing, they’re in the middle of a Sonic the Hedgehog block of games, but there’s more to come including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy VII, TASBot destroying our puny human gaming skills, and more. If you don’t have 24 hours a day free from now until January 11, check the schedule to see when your favorite speedrun title is coming up.

While you’re waiting and watching, you should have plenty of time to head over to make a donation to the Prevent Cancer Foundation for the satisfaction of doing something noble and also because you might win a PS4. There’s also a special Awesome Games Done Quick “pay what you want” pack of games you can pick up on Humble Bundle during the marathon in case you need extra motivation to feel charitable.
