Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder Movie Has Norwegian Children Show off Their Fartbending Skills

I grew up in the wrong country.

I don’t know what kind of special burritos they’re feeding kids in Norway, but they’re flying around under the power of their own farts. At least, that’s the premise of Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder, which is like Legend of Korra‘s Meelo and The Rocketeer mashed together into what is probably the perfect children’s movie.

Get on board, people; fartbending is the wave of the future:

We just got wind of this movie’s existence, but it’s based on a 2009 children’s book of the same name by Norwegian author Jo Nesbo. The movie’s bizarre synopsis goes like this:

The somewhat insane Doctor Proctor has accidentally invented the world’s most powerful fart powder. When two kids from his neighborhood drop by for an unexpected visit, it becomes the beginning of an unusual friendship and a riotous business project. Well-behaved Lisa with her pigtails and tiny Nilly with his bright red hair decide to help introduce Doctor Proctor’s fart powder to the world. But this turns out to be an adventure fraught with danger, as the wealthy and evil Mr. Thrane and his two creepy sons are willing to do anything to get their hands on the fart powder.

The comedy Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder is a modern-day fairy tale set in a world where the most normal adult is a mad professor, where animals you wish didn’t exist lurk in the sewer, and where the farts are powerful enough to launch you into outer space.

Wait, hold on. The “world’s most powerful” fart powder? There are other fart powders out there that are inferior and do not grant incredible fartbending skills? In your face, other fart powders!

The movie hits theaters in Norway tomorrow, but we’ll have to wait and see when the US will get its next fartbending fix. Until then, at least we have this:
