Happy Friday! Take a Listen to the First New Pixies Track in Almost a Decade

New Pixies? New Pixies. If you know what that means, go listen to it now. If you don't know what it means, also go listen to it now.

Time to practice this sentence: “I’d love to finish that project this afternoon, boss, but there’s a new Pixies track out today, so all I can really do in good conscience is listen to that all of the times.” I mean, people don’t really expect us to do other things when that’s a thing we could do, do they? They can’t. That would just be totally unreasonable. It’s Friday afternoon, which means you’re due to zone out to the first original Pixies track single.

Seriously, though, go listen to this new track, “Bagboy,” right now, and then do it again. I don’t know what to tell you other than it sounds like a new Pixies song, which is a great thing for pretty much anything to sound like. If more things sounded like a new Pixies song, we’d live in a happier, better world. We even only kind of miss long-time bassist Kim Deal, who split with the band earlier this year, as the backing vocalists on the new track — including Frank Black collaborator Jeremy Dubs — pick up the slack admirably.

If that sounds like a thing you would enjoy — and it should, if you like “music that is good” —  then you need to check it out like, right the now. Seriously, just hit play and remember — it’s Friday afternoon. No one expected you to get anything done anyway.
