Facebook Launches Personalized Year in Review Feature, Likely Shows Things You’d Rather Forget

Recommended Videos

The totalitarian dictators at Facebook are once again deciding what you want and when you want it, whether or not you actually do. To commemorate the end of one year and the beginning of another, Facebook has introduced a personalized Year in Review: A retrospective feature that, to put it succinctly, invades your privacy and marauds your profile for pictures and other items of note to display. Go ahead, argue the point, but Facebook is still going to send you on an awkward trip down memory lane.

Highlights that Facebook will be adding to your Year in Review include new friends, job positions, and photos taken throughout the year. So if you’re one of those few people that didn’t make any friends, are unemployed, and weren’t tagged in any photos, this is either an obnoxious reaffirmation that 2012 just wasn’t your year or a blessing in disguise that spares you the humiliation.

Year in Review is said to choose only the moments it rates as being worthy of presentation for your viewing displeasure, which will most likely constitute all those incriminating photos and drunk status updates that you thought were long buried. Just imagine all the zany stuff you’ll be getting into next year that Facebook can dig up!
