Woman Books A $50 Party Makeup Look Off Facebook Marketplace. Then The Artist Gives Her A Complete Head-To-Toe Transformation: ‘Now We’re Off’

Tiktok

TikTok has seen its fair share of questionable beauty appointments, so when one creator revealed she’d booked a $50 makeup artist through Facebook Marketplace, viewers immediately braced themselves for the worst.

Recommended Videos

Instead, they watched an artist turn a simple party makeup appointment into a full styling experience that left commenters saying she deserved to charge more than double her original asking price.

The viral video begins in the makeup artist’s dining room, where she tells lifestyle and travel blogger MillyLivin that she has been doing makeup for five years and admits she’s nervous about being on camera. Throughout the appointment, she compliments MillyLivin’s skin, asks for feedback at several stages, and carefully guides her through each step of the transformation. She starts with skin prep and foundation before moving on to contour, eye makeup, lashes, and a final layer of setting spray.

During the montage-style glam session, viewers were surprised when the artist pulled out a massive James Charles eyeshadow palette seemingly out of nowhere. The palette’s appearance even caught James Charles’ attention after the video went viral.

“WAIT SHE ATEEE ? how can I get some new palettes to her?!?! ?,” he commented.

The biggest surprise for viewers wasn’t only how beautiful the makeup looked; it was the entire documented experience.

The $50 appointment became a complete makeover

Once she finished the makeup application, the artist brought out traditional garments, helped dress and pin the outfit for the perfect fit, then returned with hot chai before creating an intricate hairstyle. She decorated MillyLivin’s low bun with white floral accessories and completed the look with traditional jewelry, including a forehead ornament, a teardrop-shaped pottu, a necklace sourced from Sri Lanka, bracelets, a belly chain, and even improvised earrings using adhesive gems because MillyLivin’s ear piercings had closed.

The attention to detail continued throughout the transformation. The artist used lotion to help slide the bracelets comfortably into place, adjusted each accessory for the perfect fit, and made sure every piece complemented the finished look.

By the end of the appointment, MillyLivin had gone from casual clothes to a fully coordinated ensemble that concluded with a professional photo shoot.

TikTok says she’s charging far too little

Rather than criticizing the budget service, TikTok commenters overwhelmingly praised both the artist’s talent and the amount of care she put into the experience. “Thats so amazing. She needs to increase her prices,” one top comment with more than 265,000 likes reads. “Oh damn I thought she was just doing makeup, but damn she did all that for $50?? Yeah now I agree her prices need to go up,” another viewer wrote.

Others estimated the transformation should have cost well over $100, while many mentioned the artist’s kindness just as much as her technical skill.”And she’s humble and kind,” one TikTok commenter wrote. Another praised the video for showcasing both talent and culture, writing, “Another wonderful example of cultural appreciation! The way you allow people to show their skill and their culture all in one is so beautiful.”

In a platform where low-cost beauty appointments often go viral on TikTokfor all the wrong reasons, this Facebook Marketplace booking became popular for the opposite reason. Instead of exposing a bargain gone wrong, viewers felt they’d discovered an artist whose thoughtful service, creativity, and attention to detail deserved a much higher price tag.
