Watch the Trailer For Great Expectations, Featuring Half the Cast of Harry Potter

It was over a year ago that we showed you the first glimpse of Helena Bonham Carter in full crazypants glory as Great Expectations‘ Miss Havisham. Now, though, the trailer itself has finally landed. Featuring the likes of Bellatrix Carter, Voldemort Ralph Fiennes, and Hagrid Robbie Coltrain–not to mention directed by Mike Newell, he who directed Goblet of Fire–it almost plays out as some strange alternate Harry Potter universe. Great Expectations is a classic in its own right, though, so this is a film to look out for. Scripted by One Day writer David Nicholls and also starring Jeremy Irvine and Holliday Grainger, the film opens in the U.K. in November. No U.S. release date has yet been announced.

Pixar’s Brave And Their Bear-Hunting Anti-Princess

Princesses in animated features are usually occupied with royal duties and finding Prince Charming. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but it’s a breath of fresh air to hear Pixar will soon be giving us a princess who’s more interested in her bow and arrow skills in the wilderness than her hair. Brave co-director Mark Andrews has opened up about the new tale, the first Pixar film with a female heroine as its star, which is sure to become an instant classic with little ones (and adults) everywhere.

20 Reasons to Be Excited About Brave (As If You Weren’t Already)

Two weeks ago, the first official teaser for Pixar’s Brave premiered with the release of Cars 2, giving Cars 2 a reason to exist. At the time I was too busy performing in a show, reviewing shows, holding down a job and keeping my cat happy to be properly excited. This week, though, I have had enough of a break to appreciate how excited I am.

And I am excited. Stupidly excited. Obnoxiously excited. I am more excited for this movie than I am for all the Christmasses to come. I am more excited for this movie than I am for my brother’s upcoming wedding (sorry, Josh). I am more excited for this movie than I am for Captain America, the drunken laugh-fest that will be Breaking Dawn, and any and all movies featuring Alan Rickman.

I am in fact so excited that it is actually making me angry. Why do I have to wait another year for this movie? I want it now. I will Veruca Salt all over this place until I get my very own Brave! (kicks things)
