Supergirl Set Photos Reveal Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman in Action

Plus Clark Kent bro-ing with James Olsen!

At San Diego Comic-Con this year, Tyler Hoechlin said he hadn’t had the chance to don the well-known suit and cape yet for his upcoming role as Superman on the first two episodes of season two of Supergirlbut the official promo photo that was released a few days ago definitely fixed that. Now, Hoechlin has been spotted filming in Vancouver for his two-parter appearance as the Man of Steel–and it looks like he’s also going to be downplaying things as Clark Kent too.

Several fans were on location to capture pictures and video of the new Superman–a couple videos from Twitter user @trevorbroad reveal exactly what goes into filming before the special effects magic gets involved:

And @yvrshoots snapped some photos of Hoechlin in character as Clark Kent standing at a Daily Planet kiosk and hanging with his buddy James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks):

Given that the show is filming in Vancouver now with its move to The CW, these early photos from filming aren’t surprising–the other CW DC superhero shows sometimes have trouble keeping details under wraps from fans, too. This stuff isn’t necessarily spoilery, but it’s really exciting to see that Hoechlin won’t just be playing Superman but Clark as well. It’s one of the things I was most hopeful about when news that Superman would be coming to Supergirl was first announced.

What are you most excited to see from Superman’s arrival to Supergirl?
