New Samurai Jack Trailer Has a Lot of Action, Facial Hair, and Angst

Recommended Videos

After a long wait, Samurai Jack returns for a final season March 11th. While Jack has some new facial hair and a lot more angst (is this Logan?), the show definitely hasn’t lost its distinct art style, and we can look forward to some amazing fight scenes between the samurai and Aku’s army of masked women.

The show will air on Adult Swim, which might explain how intense the trailer feels–Jack mostly fought robots in the previous seasons, but we may see a lot more bloodshed this time around. Creator and director Genndy Tartakovsky mentioned that the show will not pick off exactly where it left off, as a lot has happened to Jack since we last saw him. Here’s the synopsis from the video description:

It’s been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity.

It’ll be exciting to finally see how Jack’s journey to try and get back to the past ends. Are you excited for season 5 of Samurai Jack?
