Back in January we interviewed the one, the only Zoë Bell about Raze, which I dug because A) it has a feminist Fight Club thing going on and B) it’s Zoë Bell beating people up, and that’s always a movie I want to see. If you want to see it too, good news! It’s coming out on DVD tomorrow, May 20th. We have three copies to give away, and there are three ways you can win. They are:
One: Follow us on Tumblr. Like and reblog this post by this Wednesday, May 21st at noon EST. We’ll pick one winner at random and contact them via Fan Mail to get their shipping info. If you’re not following us you’ll get disqualified. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules. Wait, no, yes I do.
Two: Follow us on Twitter. Tweet this
I’m going to #Razetheroof if I win a copy of Raze from #IFCFilms and @TheMarySue. http://bit.ly/1vtFOpY
and exactly this, with no additions or changes, by Wednesday, May 21st at noon EST.
Three: Like us on Facebook (I know, you never saw that coming.) Comment on this post with the name of your favorite female fictional fighter: Xena. The Bride. Ripley. Buffy. Whomever. We wanna hear ’em. We’ll pick a winner at random and hit you up for shipping info. The deadline is (you see where this is going) Wednesday, May 21st at noon EST.
And now for the nitty gritty:
- The contest is open to US and Canadian entrants only.
- Three winners will receive one copy each of Raze on DVD, featuring “filmmaker commentary, cast and crew interviews, a behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes, extended fight scenes, a gag reel and more.”
- And say it with me: The deadline is noon on Wednesday, May 21st. You have to be following us on whatever social network you’re using to enter, ’cause otherwise it’s a pain and a half for us to get in touch with you if you win.
Just as a little reminder, here’s what Raze is all about:
After she is drugged and abducted, Jamie (Rachel Nichols, Star Trek, Continuum) awakens to find herself in a concrete bunker where she meets fellow abductee Sabrina (stuntwoman-turned-action star Zoe Bell, Death Proof, Kill Bill, Oblivion). Before long the two women discover that they are in a modern-day coliseum, where they and 48 other women have been selected to fight to the death. If they refuse, their loved ones will be killed.
Co-starring genre favorites Doug Jones (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) and Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks) as the sadistic organizers of the battles, Raze is director Josh C. Waller’s (McCanick) a no-holds-barred assault on the senses, featuring some of the most brutal fist-to-the-face combat ever put on film. In this contest, may the best woman win.
